SUNNYVALE, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Cerebras Systems, a pioneer in accelerating generative AI, today announced the appointment of new independent Board members Glenda Dorchak, a former IBM, Intel and Spansion executive, and Paul Auvil, former CFO of VMWare and Proofpoint. Both industry veterans bring a range of corporate governance and technology expertise to Cerebras’ world-class team of AI leaders. Mr. Auvil will chair the Cerebras Audit Committee, and Ms. Dorchak will chair its Compensation Committee.

Cerebras also announces the appointment of Bob Komin as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Komin has more than 30 years of experience at high growth, rapid-scaling technology companies and as an experienced public company CFO and audit committee chair. He previously served as CFO of Sunrun, where he led their IPO, CFO of Flurry through its acquisition by Yahoo, and CFO of Tellme Networks through its acquisition by Microsoft.

About Glenda Dorchak

Ms. Dorchak has more than three decades of experience in operational leadership roles in the technology industry, most recently as EVP and General Manager of Global Business with Spansion, a flash memory manufacturer. She started her career with 20 years at IBM where she held a range of operating roles including General Manager PC Direct. She later moved to e-retailer Value America where she was part of the IPO team, eventually becoming Chairman and CEO. Ms. Dorchak subsequently joined Intel Corporation as Vice President and COO of Intel Communications Group, then went on to serve as Vice President and General Manager, Broadband Products Group, and later Vice President and General Manager, Consumer Electronics Group. After Intel, Ms. Dorchak was Chairperson and CEO of Intrinsyc Software and Vice Chairman and CEO of VirtualLogix. She currently serves on the board of directors of GlobalFoundries, Ansys, and Wolfspeed. She previously served on the board of directors of Viavi Solutions, Mellanox Technologies, Quantenna Communications, and Energy Focus.

About Paul Auvil

Mr. Auvil has more than 35 years of finance, technology, and corporate leadership experience. He most recently served as CFO of Proofpoint, an enterprise security company, from March 2007 to February 2023. Prior to that, Mr. Auvil was an entrepreneur-in-residence with Benchmark Capital, a venture capital firm. From August 2002 to July 2006, Mr. Auvil served as Chief Financial Officer at VMware, a cloud-computing and virtualization company. Mr. Auvil also served as Chief Financial Officer at Vitria Technology, an eBusiness platform company, and held various executive positions at VLSI Technology, a semiconductor and circuit manufacturing company, including serving as the Vice President of the Internet and Secure Products Division. Mr. Auvil currently serves on the board of directors of Elastic, and previously served on the board of directors of 1Life Healthcare, a primary care organization acquired by Amazon, Quantum Corporation, Marin Software, and OpenTV. Mr. Auvil holds an M.M. from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University and a B.E. in Electrical Engineering from Dartmouth College.

Mr. Komin is SVP and CFO of Cerebras Systems. His career spans 30 years across all aspects of global finance, accounting, treasury, and investor relations at growth stage and public companies. From 2015 until 2020, Mr. Komin was CFO of Sunrun where he led their IPO and growth from 100,000 customers to over 500,000 to become the #1 US residential solar company.
